摘要

Given their endosymbiotic origin, plant mitochondria and plastids possess their own genomes. Within these genomes, pyrimidine transition mutations are enriched. They are fixed on RNA level through nuclear-encoded Pentatricopeptide Repeat (PPR) editing factors. We successfully expressed selected plant organellar PPR editors in diverse genetic contexts to investigate their applicability, specificity and mode of operation.
