Metabolische Fitness von B-Zellen
摘要
The B cell receptor (BCR) plays a crucial role in B cell activation and confers a survival-advantage for resting B cells. Here, I describe a novel mechanism of BCR-dependent metabolic regulation. The presence of the BCR is sensed in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), leading to its expansion. This expanded ER then supplies the mitochondria with calcium, which in turn leads to increased oxygen consumption.
