<p>The objective of this study is to explore the current status of artificial intelligence in the field of medical education of surgical oncology, analyze its advantages and challenges, and provide a reference for optimizing the education model in this field. Following PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines for narrative reviews, we systematically searched MEDLINE and Embase electronic databases from January 2010 to November 2024 for records engaging with key concepts of AI, medical education, and surgical oncology. We included all English-language articles that engaged with the three key concepts. Articles were analyzed qualitatively for themes pertaining to the influence of AI in medical education of surgical oncology. In the medical education of surgical oncology, artificial intelligence has been applied to virtual surgery simulation teaching to help students become familiar with surgical procedures and operation skills; it is used in intelligent auxiliary teaching systems to achieve personalized learning path planning and real-time feedback. However, the accuracy of this technology needs to be improved, data security and privacy protection risks, the lack of ability of some teachers to integrate new technologies into teaching, and the imbalance of educational resource allocation must also be paid attention to. Artificial intelligence has broad application prospects in medical education of surgical oncology, but many existing problems still need to be solved. We should further improve relevant technologies, strengthen teacher training, and optimize resource allocation to give full play to its role in improving the quality of medical education and help cultivate high-quality surgical oncology professionals.</p>
