Vanek’s Tumor Causing Dual Intussusception- a Case Report and Literature Review

Vanek's tumour, also known as Inflammatory Fibroid Polyps, are rare mesenchymal proliferative lesions which present in the gastrointestinal tract—gastric antrum, small bowel and recto-sigmoid colon. Vanek's tumour presenting as ileoileal and ileocecal intussusceptions in 47 year old lady, treated by ileal resection with ileo-ascending colon anastomosis is being reported. Definitive diagnosis relies on histological and immunohistochemical analysis of surgically resected specimens.
