摘要

Brown tumours of the head and neck region are rare. They occur in the setting of increased secretion of parathormone (PTH) from hyper functioning parathyroid glands. We describe a case of a brown tumour affecting the premaxilla in a middle aged lady. The presence of giant cells in the biopsy prompted a diagnosis of giant cell epulis. Raised levels of PTH clinched the diagnosis of brown tumour. Parathyroidectomy was performed which lead to symptom resolution.
