Exploring the Polyp-Adorned Colonic Pathway: a Pictorial Journey
摘要
A 38-year-old male patient was diagnosed with de novo familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) following a colonoscopy and biopsy. FAP is a hereditary condition characterized by the development of multiple colorectal polyps, increasing the risk of colorectal cancer. To mitigate this risk, the patient underwent a total colectomy with permanent ileostomy. Post-surgery, the patient necessitates regular surveillance and genetic testing for his siblings is imperative to assess their risk for FAP.
