<p>In this study, the effect of adhesive thickness on the bond strength of adhesive joints was investigated. A novel method utilizing copper wires was developed to precisely control the adhesive bond thickness. Adhesive thicknesses ranging from 0.1&#xa0;mm to 1&#xa0;mm were examined. The study focused on single-lap joints composed of dissimilar materials: unidirectional CFRP and aluminum alloy sheets. Lap shear tests showed that an adhesive thickness of 0.4&#xa0;mm resulted in the highest shear stress among the thicknesses tested. This study demonstrates that the proposed copper wire method enables accurate control of adhesive bond thickness, providing a reliable approach for optimizing joint performance. </p>
