Improvement of the Magnetic Properties of a Moving-Coil-Type High-Speed On–Off Valve for Vehicle Clutch
摘要
A good understanding of the magnetic properties and electromagnetic energy loss characteristics in a moving-coil-type (MCT) solenoid is necessarily important in the performance amelioration of a high-speed on–off valve. In this paper, a novel accurate magnetic equivalent circuit (MEC) to analyze MCT solenoid properties is presented, which requires significantly less computational time in preliminary design through calculating two innovative magnetic coefficients. The magnetic analysis of magnetic properties and energy loss in an MCT solenoid with different input parameters is presented through the numerical simulation method. This analysis takes into account several MCT solenoid structures, including permanent magnet coercivity and thickness, with varying operating parameters. To provide verification of the simulation results and a comprehensive understanding, experimental measurements of the magnetic properties were also conducted. Meanwhile, the finite element simulation data are verified with the calculation results of the MEC model and vice versa. The permanent magnet thickness and materials impact the magnetic force. The opening voltage impacts the opening process and energy loss. The opening voltage control time almost impacts copper loss. The holding voltage has impacts on both the closing process and energy loss. The closing process of the solenoid valve and copper loss are not influenced by the unloading voltage.
