Barleria monoranjanii, a new species of Barleria subg. Barleria, is described from the sub-Himalayan regions of Paschimbanga and Sikkim, India, along with photographs. The new species resembles B. cristata, but can be distinguished by its slender, scrambling habit, entire bracteole margin, ovate to broadly ovate outer sepals, lanceolate inner sepals, ovary shape, disc margin, and glabrous style base.
