<p>Based on literature survey, protologue analysis, field collections, and examination of herbarium specimens, we propose a lectotype for <i>Catasetum rooseveltianum</i>. The study also extends the geographical distribution of this species into the northern part of Brazil. An emended description of the taxon is provided together with taxonomic and ecological notes, a distribution map, and a preliminary conservation assessment.</p>
