<p><i>Colchicum talassicum</i> (Colchicaceae), a new spring-flowering ephemeroid species with synanthous leaves and a split perianth tube, from the <i>C. robustum</i> complex, endemic to the Talas Region of Kyrgyzstan (Talas Ala-Too Range &amp; Talas Valley, Tian Shan foothill and steppe ecoregion), is described and illustrated. Morphological differences between the new and related species are discussed. Photographs, habitat and morphology figures, a distribution map and a provisional conservation assessment are provided.</p>
