Two new species of Maranta (Marantaceae) from the Brazilian Amazon Forest
摘要
Two new Marantaceae species are described and named, Maranta testudinea and M. generans. Both species originate from the Brazilian Amazon but are described as a result of their introduction to greenhouses kept by private collectors and governmental scientific collections. The new species are compared to M. cristata and M. leuconeura. We provide notes on their morphology, distribution, habitat, phenology and etymology and vernacular names, as well as provisional assessments of their conservation status.
