摘要

This study represents one of the initial inquiries into volunteer re-engagement, offering insights into why former volunteers ceased their service and their perceptions of their volunteering experiences. Qualitative findings highlight the overwhelmingly positive impact of interpersonal relationships formed during volunteering. Many former volunteers cited time constraints and scheduling conflicts as reasons for discontinuation; yet expressed willingness to return if approached and provided with greater flexibility in commitment and scheduling. To enhance volunteer retention, organizations are encouraged to proactively reach out to former volunteers, understand their reasons for leaving, and adapt opportunities to accommodate varying schedules. Increasing volunteer involvement could yield benefits for volunteers, organizations, and society at large.
