Study on the design for improving the rigidity of transmission cross member for sport utility vehicles
摘要
Bending stiffness and torsional stiffness analysis were performed on the transmission cross member parts, and various design changes to the members to improve the stiffness of the transmission cross member parts were analyzed based on the results. The analysis results showed that the increase in bending stiffness and torsional stiffness due to the increase in the thickness of the transmission cross member was much greater than the increase in stiffness due to the increase in the thickness of the cross member mounting bracket. In addition, the stiffness reinforcement effect due to the increase in thickness was found to be in the order of the cross member square pipe, cross member, and cross member mounting bracket, and if the stiffness is reinforced to the maximum, it is expected that the national stiffness will be weakened by about 19 % and the torsional stiffness will increase by about 15 % compared to the existing model.
