Application of variable load control principle in compression ratio control of simulation-based free piston engine generator
摘要
To achieve precise control of the compression ratio in a free-piston engine generator, a novel variable load control method has been developed. This method introduces a variable equivalent load to dynamically adjust the system’s total impedance, thereby modulating the engine/load current. Consequently, the electromagnetic force acting on the generator mover is altered. Given the rigid mechanical connection between the generator mover and the piston, this change in electromagnetic force effectively constrains the piston’s motion. To ensure that the electromagnetic force evolves in accordance with the desired law, a closed-loop control strategy based on variable load control theory has been formulated. Simulation results demonstrate that this control strategy successfully stabilizes the piston’s motion, thereby enabling stable control of the compression ratio. This approach represents a significant advancement in the control of free-piston engine generators, offering enhanced operational flexibility and adaptability.
