Towards industry 5.0: integrating technical optimization of automated guided vehicles with human-centricity in sustainable production systems
摘要
The implementation of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) has successfully assisted manufacturers with transferring from traditional manufacturing modes to modern production methods, which is regarded as one of outcomes of Industry 4.0. AGVs play an important role in improving production efficiency, replacing manual operation and minimizing the environmental impact caused by fossil fuel consumption. Although the optimization of AGVs has received significant attention in previous research, 95 % of reviewed studies overlook the crucial role of human factors in optimizing AGVs for sustainable production. Furthermore, while certain existing research articles have emphasized the importance of human-centricity in achieving sustainable production, there is a gap in exploring the impact of human-centricity on optimizing AGVs for sustainable production in the context of Industry 5.0. This paper reviews the former research concentrations on optimization of AGVs in production systems and explores potential optimization strategies for AGVs that contribute to sustainable production systems towards Industry 5.0.
