Thermo-mechanical fatigue analysis of heat shield of diesel engine
摘要
The exhaust manifold of an engine generates significant heat due to hot combustion gases, which can damage nearby components. To mitigate this, a heat shield is mounted on the exhaust manifold to reduce heat transfer to the surroundings. During engine operation, the heat shield is exposed to high temperatures, which can lead cause damage. In this study, the deformation behavior of the heat shield was analyzed using finite element analysis (FEA), along with an assessment of the damage mechanism. Based on these findings, an optimal design improvement was proposed.
