A study on performance prediction through geometric shape measurement of torque converter turbine for tracked vehicle
摘要
The performance of torque converters is typically confirmed using dedicated testing equipment. However, with the advancement of technology, various methods have been attempted to predict performance through confirmation and analysis of shape accuracy. In this study, predicted measurement parameters for confirming the shape accuracy of a turbine were secured, a 3D model was created, and the results were compared with the results measured by a 3D laser scanning coordinate measuring machine (CMM) on the actual turbine. Products that satisfied the conditions were then tested using dedicated testing equipment, and the overall performance of the torque converter was obtained. In addition, the performance characteristics were calculated by comparing them with the predicted performance of a 1D model. The calculation results confirmed that the performance characteristics were within the predicted range when the shape of the turbine satisfied the casting accuracy range of the manufacturing drawing.
