Experimental estimation and numerical comparison of fatigue strength of A356/SiCP composite in T6 condition

The aim of the article is to estimate the fatigue strength of T6-treated A356/SiCp composite for 105 cycles experimentally and compared the estimated value numerically. For the experimental estimation staircase method was used and for the numerical method ANSYS Workbench R2023. For this, a composite of A356/SiCp was fabricated using the stir-casting technic. The fabricated composite was T6 heat treated, and its UTS value was determined. 30 % of the UTS value was arbitrarily chosen as the initial stress value for the fatigue strength estimation. The model with the same dimensions was created in Solid Works 2017 and the fatigue tool in the ANYS Workbench R2023 was used for the numerical analysis.
