<p>Renewed Middle Eastern nuclear-linked escalation has re-centered the Strait of Hormuz as a critical maritime chokepoint. Following Iran’s June 2025 threat to restrict transit, concerns over global energy security and trade vulnerability intensified. This letter examines Hormuz as a geopolitical bargaining instrument and highlights the systemic economic risks associated with disruption in this energy-concentrated corridor.</p>
