<p>Physician assistants have been well recognized and established team members in Anglo-American hospitals for years and their integration often leads to stabilization of high-quality clinical treatment. This is particularly important considering the shortage and high turnover of physicians. Despite a&#xa0;generally applicable legal regulatory framework determining the possibly transferable medical tasks, it is necessary to exactly define the field of activity for physician assistants. This position paper includes a&#xa0;detailed overview of possible employment of physician assistants in various inpatient cardiological fields in Germany.</p>

Despite a generally applicable legal regulatory framework determining the possibly transferable medical tasks, it is necessary to exactly define the field of activity for physician assistants. This position paper includes a detailed overview of possible employment of physician assistants in various inpatient cardiological fields in Germany.
