<p>For decades, rising costs in the healthcare system have forced hospitals to not only provide high-quality medical care but also to have an economic perspective on the quality of the structures, processes and outcomes. This means, among other things, the efficient management of capacities and processes. In cardiology the cardiac catheterization laboratory is a&#xa0;particular focus of attention. Until now, there has been no standardized and data-driven management approach for this functional area. The “glossary of process times and key indicators in the cardiac catheterization laboratory” was issued in 2023 and provided a&#xa0;defined foundation on the basis of which systematic evaluations are carried out and objective assessments of processes in cardiac catheterization laboratories can be performed.</p>
