Gefäßerkrankungen bei Diabetes mellitus
摘要
Diabetes mellitus is one of the most important risk factors for peripheral arterial disease (PAD). In diabetes patients, PAD is frequently only detected at an advanced stage, because early symptoms can be missing in the presence of polyneuropathy and diagnosis is more difficult in the case of media sclerosis. A special situation is diabetic foot syndrome, in which a combination of angiopathy and neuropathy is usually present. The presence of diabetes increases mortality and the risk of amputation in patients with PAD. Early diagnosis and treatment of PAD in diabetes patients is therefore of great importance in order to avoid amputations and improve prognosis.
