An Electrochemical Sensor Based on ZnWO4/γ-Fe2O3 for the Detection of Chloramphenicol in Milk

A chloramphenicol (CAP) electrochemical sensor based on zinc tungstate and maghemite nanocomposites (ZnWO4/γ-Fe2O3) is proposed. First, ZnWO4 and γ-Fe2O3 nanomaterials were synthesized using a hydrothermal synthesis method, then compositely modified onto glassy carbon electrodes to construct electrochemical sensors for measuring CAP. Under optimal conditions, the ZnWO4/γ-Fe2O3-modified electrode exhibits a stronger reduction peak current for CAP detection than the single-component electrode and demonstrates better electrocatalytic activity. The results demonstrate that ZnWO4/γ-Fe2O3/GCE exhibits a linear detection range of 8–1000 μM and a detection limit of 1.04 μM, demonstrating good selectivity in the presence of different interferers, as well as outstanding stability and reproducibility. ZnWO4/γ-Fe2O3/GCE was used to detect of CAP in milk samples, yielding satisfactory results.
