摘要

This study aimed to examine the association between physical activity and depressive symptoms among older adults, with a particular focus on the mediating role of resilience and the moderating role of trait mindfulness. Data were collected from 300 community-dwelling older adults (aged 60~90) in December 2024. Participants completed the Physical Activity Rating Scale, the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and the Resilience Scale. A total of 265 valid responses were included. Pearson correlation, mediation analysis (PROCESS Model 4), and moderated mediation analysis (PROCESS Model 14) were conducted. Physical activity was negatively associated with depressive symptoms in older adults. After accounting for resilience, the direct association between physical activity and depressive symptoms became non-significant, whereas the indirect pathway through resilience was statistically significant. In addition, the interaction between resilience and trait mindfulness was significantly associated with depressive symptoms. A moderated mediation model was supported. Physical activity is associated with lower level depression among older adults through resilience, and this indirect pathway is moderated by dispositional mindfulness in the latter stage of the mediation process.
