摘要

To provide organizations with insights on how to alleviate employees’ insecurity about potential job displacement and reduce job burnout, this study examined AI literacy, job burnout, awareness of smart technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, and algorithms (STARA), and organizational AI adoption among 948 Chinese employees engaged in new forms of employment. The results showed that (a) AI literacy negatively predicted job burnout; (b) STARA awareness partially mediated the relation between AI literacy and job burnout; (c) Organizational AI adoption moderated the first half of the path of this mediation model. Simple slope analysis revealed that at lower levels of organizational AI adoption, AI literacy was not significantly associated with STARA awareness. In contrast, at higher levels of organizational AI adoption, AI literacy significantly predicted STARA awareness. Theoretically, this study extends the Job Demands-Resources model. Practically, it suggests that organizations should implement AI technologies and enhance employees’ AI literacy to mitigate job burnout.
