Informal field-based learning and expatriates’ psychological well-being: the roles of expatriate adjustment and perceived organizational support
摘要
This study proposes a moderated mediation model to examine how and when informal field-based learning relates to expatriates’ psychological well-being. Data from 418 full-time expatriates working in Chinese multinational corporations (MNCs) are used to test the hypotheses. The results show that informal field-based learning positively relates to expatriates’ psychological well-being, with expatriate adjustment mediating this relationship. Moreover, perceived organizational support moderates both the relationship between informal field-based learning and expatriate adjustment, and the indirect influence of informal field-based learning on psychological well-being through expatriate adjustment. These findings not only contribute to the psychological well-being literature but also offer valuable practical implications for MNCs.
