The role of organizational memory on the motivation and organizational performance of employees with the mediation of quality of work life
摘要
In this study, our goal was to explore the role of organizational memory on organizational motivation and performance of employees with the mediating role of a harmonious work environment. For this aim, we selected 350 employees of Weichai Power Company in China, including managers, experts, and production operators. Participants responded to scales of organizational memory, occupational motivation, Hersey organizational performance, and harmonious work environment. Results indicated that there was a substantial positive relationship between organizational memory and organizational motivation, organizational performance, and a harmonious work environment. Additionally, the path analysis revealed that the work environment plays a significant mediating role in organizational memory, performance and organizational motivation. The results also revealed that strong organizational memory enables workers to take lessons from prior mistakes and offer creative solutions to enhance performance. On the other hand, workers are less motivated to enhance their performance and have less inclination to utilize organizational memory in high-tension and unhealthy relationship-based workplaces.
