<p>Successful team creative activities depend not only on individual talent, but also on how well team members process information and interact with each other. Differences in how teammates think and behave (cognitive and personality structures) can shape their collaborative dynamics. This study investigates the neural mechanisms underlying these effects by examining interbrain synchronization during team creative interactions. This study employed electroencephalogram hyperscanning to measure interbrain synchronization using phase locking value in 18 two-person teams engaged in a creative task. Results from the analysis of covariance indicated that team cognitive structure positively affected interbrain synchronization in the delta band during task conflict, while extraversion negatively affected interbrain synchronization in the beta band during task conflict. Additionally, team cognitive structure and neuroticism had a significant interaction effect on interbrain synchronization in the delta band. These findings enhance our understanding of how cognitive and personality structures shape neural activities in team creative activities. This study also provides practical insights for improving team creativity by optimizing cognitive diversity and personality composition.</p>

How team structure affects interbrain synchronization during creative interaction: an EEG hyperscanning analysis
