摘要

This study explores the relationship between body esteem, self-esteem, and perceived employability among French business school students. In an era where concerns about body image are increasing, understanding its influence on employability is becoming more critical. Drawing on Self-Comparison Theory, this research investigates the role of body esteem in shaping self-esteem and perceived employability. A three-wave longitudinal study was conducted, following 116 students over a period of nine months. The results suggest that students with higher body esteem tend to exhibit higher self-esteem, which in turn boosts their perceived employability. These findings underline the need to foster positive body image and self-esteem, as they can be key factors in enhancing students' perceptions of their career prospects. Promoting body positivity and self-worth could therefore have a substantial impact not only on personal development but also on professional confidence. This research adds to the growing evidence that positive body image plays a vital role in career-related outcomes for young adults.
