Ideological and political education is essential in cultivating students’ political awareness and encouraging their active participation in civic affairs. In any society, young individuals represent the future leaders and decision-makers. Therefore, fostering political awareness and encouraging active participation among students are crucial for the health and sustainability of a democratic society. This research examines the intricate relationship between ideological education, political instruction, and students’ levels of political consciousness and engagement within the academic environment. Using a quantitative research design, data were gathered from 241 students and 96 teachers through structured questionnaires and analyzed with SPSS software. The study’s originality stems from its focus on the practical application of real-world scenarios within ideological education (IE), offering a deeper and more nuanced perspective on the subject. The findings reveal significant correlations and impacts, affirming that increased IE correlates positively with heightened political awareness, promoting civic engagement. Additionally, political education significantly influences students’ political participation, focusing on the ideological dimension shaping active involvement in civic affairs. The study underscores that the effectiveness of IE hinges on the alignment between educational content and students’ pre-existing political beliefs, influencing both awareness and participation.
