This paper aims to explore the teacher-related concepts within this field and elucidate how teachers play a crucial role in fostering students' motivation and engagement through their immediacy. So, 392 Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFL) learners including both genders from 16 different Chinese universities in 9 provinces took part, and they were supposed to fill out the three questionnaires, namely engagement, motivationand perceived teacher immediacy. After gathering the data, Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was utilized to answer the research questions and the findings showed that teacher immediacy could predict 69 percent of changes in the SFL learners’ engagement and 73 percent of changes in the SFL learners’ motivation. Subsequently, some implications were presented.
