<p>The purpose of this study is to ascertain the effects of COVID-19 related issues (physical, psychological, financial, and technological) on the well-being of employees specifically within Higher Education Institutions. Additionally, it determines the moderating role of coping strategies between workplace stress and psychological well-being and the mediating role of workplace stress between COVID-19 concerns and the psychological well-being of employees from Higher Education Institutions. Data were gathered from teaching and administrative staff of higher education institutions using simple random sampling. Partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) has been used to analyze the collected data. The study results showed that workplace stress mediates the relationship between COVID-19 concerns and psychological well-being and that COVID-19 concerns have a significant relationship with employees’ psychological well-being. The well-being of employees is impacted by stress brought on by financial, technological, physical, and psychological concerns. The findings of the study further showed that the relationship between workplace stress and employees’ psychological well-being is not considerably moderated by coping strategies. This study expands on the body of prior research by adding coping strategies as a moderator between workplace stress and psychological well-being. Less research has examined the effect of COVID-19 concerns on the psychological well-being of Higher Education Institutions, while less attention has been paid to coping strategies for staff in these settings. For senior management, legislators, and the Government, the study gives helpful practical implications for ensuring staff training and providing financial support to employees of Higher Educational Institutions in the public and private sectors.</p>
