The effect of Acceptance and Commitment Group Therapy (ACT-G) on emotional schemas and feelings of loneliness in women with depression
摘要
Our study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Group Therapy (ACT-G) on emotional schemas and loneliness in women with depression. A pretest-post-test quasi-experimental design was used with 30 women with depression referred to Tehran clinics, randomly assigned to either an experimental group that received eight sessions of ACT-G or a control group that received no intervention. The participants were assessed by self-report questionnaires of emotional schemas and loneliness at pretest, post-test, and one-month follow-up. The results showed that ACT-G significantly improved various components of emotional schemas and loneliness in the experimental group compared to the control group. These improvements were maintained at the follow-up evaluation. The findings suggest that ACT-G is a beneficial intervention for reducing emotional schemas and feelings of loneliness in women with depression. The implications and future directions for research and practice are discussed.
