The Psychology of Problem Finding: from the Arousal System to Cognitive Sensitivity
摘要
Just as problem solving psychology is important, so is problem finding psychology. In the study of problem finding psychology, some key concepts, such as arousal system, tolerance for ambiguity, curiosity and fear, and cognitive sensitivity, have been proposed, which are highly enlightening for the in-depth exploration of problem finding theory. The arousal system serves as the physiological foundation for triggering inquiries, tolerance for ambiguity represents a cognitive attitude toward environmental uncertainties, curiosity and fear act as initial driving forces for problem emergence, while cognitive sensitivity facilitates the final formulation of problems. However, this psychological theory of problem finding still has flaws and needs further improvement.
