摘要

This study investigates the influence of cultural values—collectivism and individualism—on sexual health literacy in Türkiye and examines the mediating role of sexual health literacy in the relationship between these values and impulsive buying tendencies. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 1617 participants. Findings indicate that collectivist individuals exhibit lower sexual health literacy, whereas individualist individuals show higher levels. Sexual health literacy mediates the relationship between cultural values and impulsive buying by weakening the positive effect of collectivism and enhancing the negative effect of individualism on impulsive purchasing. In other words, higher sexual health literacy reduces impulsive buying among collectivists and strengthens the inhibitory effect of individualism. These results highlight the functional role of sexual health literacy in limiting impulsive buying, which often reflects consumer culture, and underscore its importance for both individual and societal well-being. The study’s originality lies in its integrated examination of sexual health literacy and impulsive buying tendencies within the framework of cultural values, offering new insights into the interplay between culture, knowledge, and consumer behavior.
