<p>The article attempts to assess whether the National Crime Agency has achieved the government’s aim of substantially reducing the level of serious and organised crime affecting the UK since the Agency was created in 2013. It does this by describing; the government’s view of the threat posed by organised crime at the time, its strategic response, and the key tools made available in England and Wales to PURSUE those involved in organised crime. These sections are followed by an evaluation that contrasts the stated aims and claims with official statistics on the use of these tools during this time. In doing so it raises questions about the statistics provided to the public in official documentation.</p>
