<p>Nigeria suffers from ethnocentric political tendencies by state and non-state actors. Using ex-post facto method, this study examined the nexus between non-state actors’ undemocratic activities in Lagos State during 2023 general election and political sustainability (PS) of Nigeria and factors that led to non-state actors’ undemocratic activities during 2023 general election in Lagos State which might affect Nigeria’s PS. The study validated that the correlation between non-state actors’ undemocratic activities in Lagos State during 2023 general election and Nigeria’s PS is statistically significant, and there is significant correlation between the factors that led to non-state actors’ undemocratic activities during 2023 general election in Lagos State and Nigeria’s PS. Conclusively, non-state actors’ undemocratic politics in Lagos State must be tackled in order to attain PS and sustainable development (SD) in Nigeria, because whatever affects one affects everyone.&#xa0;The implication is that to re-invent Nigeria for SD, hate speech as a feature&#xa0;of ethnic politics must be outlawed by the National Assembly. We recommend that&#xa0;State policy actors should become vivid example of exemplary leadership, encouraging active participation in the democratic process and promoting a national identity that transcends ethnic lines.</p>
