A comprehensive review on authentication, threats and privacy preserving challenges for securing smart transportation infrastructure
摘要
The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a novel technology that evolved from the Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) for providing dynamic communication between vehicles, infrastructure, and users. IoV improves the safety, traffic flow, and security through Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). ITS is an advanced application of communication technologies to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems. Authentication is a major concern in IoV, it ensures that only the verified or authenticated entity can access the protected information. Efficient security procedures help in preventing unauthorized access and threats. This review work provides comprehensive analysis of a variety of authentication approaches in the field of IoV and investigates different attacks that can cause concern in authentication. This research work, investigates privacy-preserving techniques with open issues to solve the authentication challenges in IoV. This study further discusses the future research aspects, determining the efficient authentication procedures to overcome the threats caused in the IoV environment.
