Integrating IoT and WSN: Enhancing quality of service through energy efficiency, scalability, and secure communication in smart systems
摘要
In recent years, integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) into innovative systems development has been a watershed moment in this field. In this paper, we will present the convergence of these technologies by exploring new advancements in energy-efficient communication, data aggregation and routing topologies by adopting the ZigBee protocol. This study deals with strategies for extending network lifetime and performance by addressing critical challenges such as energy optimization, security vulnerabilities and scalability. The applications ranged from healthcare to smart cities to industrial automation, to precision agriculture and the real-world implementations of these applications and their results on our society. Further, it assesses new solutions such as hybrid network topologies, secure routing protocols and data aggregation schemes that provide a good compromise between resource efficiency and robust functionality. Taken together, this comprehensive analysis offers insights into how IoT-WSN systems enable the creation of sustainable, intelligent infrastructure, and serves as a demonstration of potential research directions on the optimal utilization of the complementary interdependent technologies.
