摘要

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network that connects physical objects, electronic software, sensors, and actuators through the Internet. The widespread adoption of IoT has revolutionized several industries by enabling smarter and more efficient solutions. However, this rapid expansion has also brought significant security challenges, including privacy concerns, unauthorized access, data breaches, and susceptibility to attacks. Traditional schemes have been introduced to address these issues, but most cannot provide adequate security. This paper proposes a secure addressing and mutual authentication scheme that assigns a unique address to each smart home device/appliance by modifying the standard IPv6 protocol. This SUMAS scheme also provides a mutual authentication method to protect the network from attackers. Moreover, we also provide the informal and formal verification of this scheme simulated using the frequently used AVISPA tool. Finally, formal and informal security studies show that the proposed approach resists different attacks.
