Hyperacusis prevalence was significantly higher among males (21.8%) than females (11.5%) (χ2 = 7.03, <i>p</i> = 0.008). Furthermore, participants also had emotional distress (25.7%), difficulty concentrating (19.2%), and social avoidance (22.9%). Comorbid symptoms such as tinnitus (9.2%) and vertigo (5.5%) were also observed among the participants. This study reveals that hyperacusis is more common in the Indian population, making it an important concern for overall well-being. The finding that men are more frequently affected aligns with earlier research, pointing to possible gender-related patterns. These findings highlight the need for increased awareness, more supportive treatment options, and ongoing research to better understand the causes of hyperacusis and its impact on individuals in everyday life, regardless of age.</p>
