Intranasal Supernumerary Teeth-Case Series and Review of Literature
摘要
Intranasal ectopic teeth are rare and may present with varied sinonasal symptoms. We present a case series of patients with intranasal teeth, discuss diagnostic challenges, management, and review relevant literature. Three male patients presented to our OPD with primary complaints of nasal obstruction. All underwent nasal endoscopy and CT imaging, which confirmed ectopic teeth in the nasal cavity. Endoscopic removal was performed in 2 of these cases with complete resolution of symptoms and one patient did not require removal as the condition was asymptomatic. Intranasal teeth are uncommon and may mimic rhinoliths or other nasal masses. Imaging and endoscopic evaluation are crucial for diagnosis. Endoscopic removal is safe and effective method of managing intranasal tooth. Clinicians should consider ectopic teeth in the differential diagnosis of nasal obstruction, especially in younger male patients.
