Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma with Atypical and Widespread Presentation in Head and Neck-A Five Case Study
摘要
Lymphomas are solid tumour of the immune system which include 14% of all head and neck malignancies. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (NHL) are a heterogeneous group of lymphoproliferative disorders originating in B, T or natural killer T cells. Extra nodal involvement, particularly in the head and neck region, can present with atypical features that mimic benign or infectious conditions. We report a series of five patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma presenting at uncommon head and neck sites with uncommon presentations. A definitive diagnosis was uncertain therefore further evaluation was necessary. Histopathology along with immunohistochemistry confirmed the diagnosis. All patients were treated accordingly based on the stage of presentation and few had favourable responses.
