Aim <p>To evaluate the efficacy of Pentoxifylline in the management of Oral Sub mucous Fibrosis.</p> Methodology <p>40 patients presenting in ENT OPD of VIMSAR, BURLA, with clinically diagnosed oral sub mucous fibrosis (OSMF), between June 2019 to January 2020 were chosen for the study. The patients were compared with age and gender matched controls (n&#xa0;=&#xa0;40). They were divided equally in 2 groups. Group A is administered with intralesional steroid with oral 400 mg Pentoxifylline twice daily &amp; Group B with intralesional steroid with multivitamins for 3 months. Evaluation done in regular interval &amp; data was analysed using chi-square test and Statistical significance was set at p&#xa0;&lt;&#xa0;0.05.</p> Result <p>There was a significant improvement (p&#xa0;&lt;&#xa0;0.05) in all parameter measured (mouth opening, tongue protrusion, burning sensation &amp; difficulty in speech &amp; swallowing) in Group A patients in comparison to Group B.</p> Conclusion <p>Pentoxifylline can bring about significant clinical improvement in the symptoms of OSMF, causing improving the quality of life of the affected individuals.</p>

Aim
