<p>Chronic Otitis media is the mucosal inflammation of the middle ear cleft and is of two types, mucosal and squamosal for which the treatment is different and therefore it iscrucial to diagnose the two precisely . Inflammatory mechanisms are responsible in the pathophysiology of mucosal and squamosal otitis media .The systemic immune inflammation index is one such inflammatory marker which despite being cost effective may prove to be a powerful test in the differentation of mucosal and squamosal chronic otitis media.</p>
