Background <p>Widespread adoption of digital devices has amplified complaints of ocular irritation collectively termed as digital eye strain (DES), yet parallel effects on the nasal mucosa have not been formally quantified.</p> Objective <p>To assess the impact of prolonged screen time on nasal mucosal dryness in adults and evaluate its correlation with established digital eye strain parameters.</p> Materials and Methods <p>A crosssectional study was conducted involving 500 nonsmoking adults aged 18–45 years recruited from universities and informationtechnology offices in Delhi between March and June 2025. Each participant completed the Computer Vision Syndrome Questionnaire (CVSQ), Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) and a newly validated Nasal Dryness Score (NDS). Ambient relative humidity, airconditioning exposure, hydration practices and blinkreminder use were recorded and rigid endoscopy was offeredto 20% of volunteers.</p> Results <p>Mean daily screen time recorded was 7.8 ± 2.9&#xa0;h. Median CVSQ, OSDI and NDS values increased stepwise with exposure, and screen time ≥ 8&#xa0;h remained an independent predictor of severe nasal dryness after adjustment for humidity, water intake and blinktraining (adjusted odds ratio 2.41,95% CI 1.59–3.67). Endoscopic examination confirmed inferior turbinate desiccation in63% of the subsample.</p> Conclusion <p>Our findings indicate that overuse of screens dries the ocular and nasal surfaces in tandem, plausibly through reduced blink frequency, mouthbreathing posture and lowhumidity microenvironments. Recognition of “drynose DES” broadens the spectrum of screenrelated mucosal pathology and suggests that preventive measures for DES should incorporate into nasal health.</p>
