Early Surgical Intervention with Collagen-Assisted Healing in Malignant Otitis Externa: A Case Report
摘要
Malignant otitis externa (MOE) is a rare but aggressive infection of the external auditory canal, especially in diabetic and immunocompromised individuals. While traditional treatment relies primarily on prolonged antibiotic therapy, our case emphasizes the importance of early diagnosis and demonstrates the benefit of surgical debridement in localized MOE (without skull base involvement), along with the use of collagen dressing to promote epithelialization and improve functional outcomes.
