Introduction <p>Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a chronic IgE‑mediated inflammatory condition of the nasal mucosa. Emerging evidence suggests AR may affect the auditory system, but its association with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), particularly in relation to disease duration, remains underexplored.</p> Materials and methods <p>A cross‑sectional study was conducted in the ENT Department (April 2023–April 2024) including patients aged 10–50 years with allergic rhinitis &gt;4–6 weeks, diagnosed per ARIA guidelines. Exclusions included other causes of hearing loss. All underwent ENT examination, Pure Tone Audiometry, and DPOAE testing by a single audiologist. Data were analyzed using Epi Info 7.2.</p> Results <p>Among 75 patients, those with SNHL had the longest mean AR duration (5.3 years). Notably, 78.1% of patients with AR &gt;5.3 years had SNHL. The correlation between AR chronicity and hearing loss was highly significant (<i>p</i> = 0.0001).</p> Conclusion <p>Prolonged AR is significantly associated with SNHL, suggesting chronic allergic inflammation may impact cochlear structures. Routine audiological screening and early management of long‑standing AR may help prevent progressive auditory impairment.</p>
