<p>Ectopic tonsils are defined as tonsillar tissues that develop in locations outside of the four primary tonsil groups, which include the pharyngeal, tubal, palatine, and lingual tonsils. The exact mechanism underlying the occurrence of ectopic tonsils remains unclear. In this report, we present a case of ectopic tonsils located in the nasopharynx of a child. The lesion was completely excised under general anesthesia. Histopathological examination revealed typical tonsillar structures, leading to a final diagnosis of ectopic tonsil in the nasopharynx. Although the presence of ectopic tonsil tissue in the nasopharynx is relatively rare among children, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of soft tissue masses in the upper oral airway.</p>
